In 2017, a list of the most prominent and effective philanthropists on social media was created by Richtopia. Adam Milstein was 187 on that list. This is the second time he has received such an honor. In 2016 the Jerusalem Post listed Milstein as one of the 50 most influential Jewish figures of that year. So who is Adam Milstein, and why is he being recognized for his philanthropic work?

Adam Milstein is a successful real-estate investor and managing partner for Hager Pacific Properties. Over the years, he has been able to use his success for many philanthropic pursuits, chief among them forming Adam and Gila Milstein foundation with his wife. Born in Israel Adam and his wife immigrated to the U.S. in 1981. Milstein received a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1983. Before immigrating, Adam fought in the Yom Kippur war with the Israeli Defense Force, and participated in the crossing of the Suez Canal against the Egyptian Third Army. Despite his success, Adam never forgot his roots, and decided in 2000 to help others connect with their roots as well.

Adam Milstein knows what it is like to be a Israeli immigrant in America, and how easy ones identity can be set adrift amidst the U.S. melting pot. The Adam and Gila Milstein foundation is dedicated to the education and training of young Jewish students, ensuing that they do not lose touch with their heritage. Boraie Development is a real estate company that is sponsoring a family movie event for the second time this summer. The Provident Bank Foundation will also be sponsoring the Free Summer Movie Series event in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Together, with the State Theatre district, they have selected six different popular movies that will be displayed. The wide variety of movies will approach every single person in a different way when they decide to come out and take part in the festivities. The free movie night will start in mid-July and run until mid-August. According to Central Jersey Working Moms, the ever popular Disney movie, Frozen, will be the first to air on July 12. E.T. Will follow frozen and will be at the theatre on July 19th, the following week. July 26th will show Despicable Me 2 and start the month of August out strong with Babe, airing on August 2nd. Monsters University, which is the second spin of the first version, will air on August 9th and then last but not least, Aladdin on August 16th. Show times will be twice on those days, showing at 10:30am and 7:00pm. The State Theatre currently seats approximately 1,850 people. They suspect that there will be several thousand people and their families who will join the event.
